Hello Hub family! I’m back! I’ve been quite busy on other projects these days but while working, I dusted off an old cassette tape I found. Remember those from way back in a day? I chuckled when I found it, so I popped it inside of one of my old cassette players after dusting it off also! To my amusement, it was the jamming sounds of old school. Wow, it took me back to those high school dances, those old roller-skate jams and what about those awesome house parties with our tight afros and bell-buttons grooving while coming down the soul train line. Man, we use to have so much fun back then. Oh, it was music to my ears as I listened to those wonderful slow jams that reminded me of that special someone from way back when. We would drive to a little spot and park; we called it “Lover’s Lane” all the while listening to those old soft slow jams that played a significant part in romance and love. Those mellifluous sounds always made you feel good while being with that significant other. Man, I wish I could relive those times again because really they were the best of times for me. As I reminisced, I remember when I got my first car; it was a clean 72’ Ford Pinto with a spoiler on the back, my dad bought it from a friend whose wife no longer wanted the car. It was in mint condition and I remember my dad taking it to have the oil changed, tune up and all that good stuff. To my surprise, he stopped at the music store and bought me the Temptations latest hits being he knew I loved their music. It was lying on the seat so I’d see it when I got in and when he gave me my keys it was like a dream come true. I remember after showing off my car to my friends, I parked in driveway until dark appreciating my car while listening to those great hits. My favorite is “My Girl!”

How well do you remember this one The 5th Dimension ~ Stoned Soul Picnic Remember those cool picnics? Those awesome Barbeques, potatoe salad, Grandma’s buttery peach cobbler and playing volleyball while we jammed to the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrJRZRZIn4&feature=related

One of Motowns greatest was Smokey Robinson and Mirales back in the mid 60’s. I love this jam and it’s called the “Tracks of My Tears.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coh7n6dYj5Y

The Dells was awesome group! I could listen to them for hours and hours because they were so smooth and you felt the words of the lyrics. Do remember this one “The Love We Had Stays On My Mind.” http://youtu.be/VbD_rbltrw4

Like the Dells, the Delfonics had a similar sound. It’s those lyrics that touched people. Do you remember this song called “Didn’t I?” http://youtu.be/lOvfctgwnug

This jam by Harold Melvin and Blues Notes would surely get you out of your sets and groove to their funky beat. Thanks to Teddy Pendergrass the group went to the top of the charts. I could always depend on this song to lift me up when I was having one of my bad days. Do you remember this one and called “Bad Luck.” http://youtu.be/jACxYHvAkYU

Oh and these guys took me to another level with this jam! I love this song by the Whispers and I can guarantee that you’ll love it too as you watch them move and groove to “And The Beat Goes On.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slldMEPvUqA

The Four Tops was a phenomenal group that carried me away with some of their lyrics. Do you remember the jam “Reach Out I’ll Be There."  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky5_WeQWfeY&feature=fvsr

The Chi lites was group that catered to everyone romantically. The group’s lyrics in this song had me imagining that they were actually looking for me! Do you remember the song “Have You Seen Her?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVYxKRXDT2I

This song was truly for those ladies out there who believed in the Zodiac signs. You remember how we use to choose our boyfriends by determining what zodiac sign of which they were born and visa versa the guys did it as well. This group the Dramatics really explained that you don’t need to believe in the signs of the zodiac, its really what’s in your heart that matters when you’re in love. Do you remember this jam, “I’m Going By the Stars in Your Eyes?”

This group the Ohio Players took funk to a new level back when the trendy styles became more tightly fitted. When you think of groups that could play those instruments, then the Ohio Players should be one of the first on your list as they played those funky beats. They had their own distinctive sound that would surely get you out of your seats. Do you remember this jam and it’s called, “Skin Tight.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHLz5ZcVVLc

I think this song by the Ojays will always be a classic. It was originated in the early 70’s and the lyrics to this song is still real today because we all need money but some people will go to extreme measures to have it all! Have you really listened the the lyrics of this song “Money?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll3uipTO-4A

When I heard this song it took me to places I’ve never been but I wished I had. It’s a beautiful smooth jam to relax to or unwind with that significant other. This jam was so sweet, I kept hitting the replay button while thinking of some of those places I’d rather be. See if the lyrics to this song sends you there and its called “Send For Me”. Do you remember “Atlantic Starr?”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrixPsusYu0

We all remember grooving with the mighty Commodores in their funky jam “Brick House!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5EmnQp3V48
